How is COVID-19 treated?
Most patients can be managed at home with support from doctors and home services, (contact on 8008166166 if you need to speak to a doctor specialist in managing COVID-19). But if you develop serious symptoms or other health problems you might need to go to the hospital.
- Mild illness(80-90%) – Mild illness means you might have symptoms like fever and cough, but you do not have trouble breathing. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and can rest at home until they get better. This usually takes about 2 weeks, but for some it may be little longer.
- Severe illness(10-20%) – If you have more severe illness with trouble breathing, you might need to stay in the hospital. You might need extra oxygen to help you breathe easily and around 5% of them may end up needing ventilator support.
What should I do if someone in my home has COVID-19?
- the patient should isolate in a separate room, eat separately and use a different bathroom if possible.
- the patient should wear a mask when they are with other people.
- Wash hands with soap and water often and wear disposable gloves when you clean.
How can I cope with stress and anxiety?
It’s normal to feel anxious, stressed, lonely, tired and worried about COVID-19. You can take care of yourself by trying to:
- Isolate yourself from news about the virus. (Everything we need to know, we already know).
- Don’t look out for death toll. It’s not a cricket match to know the latest score. Avoid that.
- Don’t look for additional information on the Internet; it would weaken your mental state.
- Avoid sending fatalistic messages. Some people don’t have the same mental strength as you.
- If possible, listen to music, look for board games to entertain children, tell stories and future plans.
- Maintain discipline in the home by washing your hands and personal hygiene.
- Your positive mood will help protect your immune system.
- Focus on your work strategy for future, it’s time to restructure your personal & professional portfolio
- Watch comedy movies & videos & stay with laughter, as laughter is best medicine.
- Be responsible. Take responsibility. Own responsibility. Don’t blame others.
- Keep self safe. Keep your family safe. Keep your relatives safe. Keep humanity safe.
